The tryouts for the 2024-2025 season is on Sunday, 10/20 from 5-7 PM at the Foxboro Y.

What to expect at tryouts:
- All swimmers will warm-up for ~15 minutes
- For swimmers under 11 as of 11/1/2024, being able to comfortably swim 25 yards of any stroke (one length of the pool) in a reasonable amount of time
- For swimmers 11 and up as of 11/1/2024, being able to comfortably swim 50 yards of any stroke (one lap of the pool) in a reasonable amount of time
- Although helpful, it’s not required to know any strokes besides freestyle
- Some basic information about tryouts and the season
- Entry to the Y will always be from the door on the side that goes directly to the pool deck (NOT the main Y entrance)
- All swimmers are expected to come ready to swim; they can store their belongings on the pool deck
- There will be NO use of the locker rooms except for the restrooms (per Y policy)
- You don’t need to be a Y member to join the team
- The cost for the season is estimated at $180 per swimmer. Financial assistance is available and will be kept confidential
- We will have meets during the season with the four other teams in our league and championships at the end of the season
- We have five adult coaches (at least one will always be present) and ~10-15 lane coaches (high school students who have been on the swim team for a long time and enjoy teaching younger swimmers)
- The season will begin on Sunday, November 3rd and end in mid-March (exact date TBD)
- Three practice sessions on Saturday
- Three practice sessions on Sunday
- Each swimmer will be assigned to ONE practice session per day based on age group and ability
- Each practice session will have a maximum of fifty swimmers
- The practice days/times are as follows:
- Saturday: 5-6, 6-7, 7-8 PM
- Sunday: 5-6, 6-7, 7-8 PM
